About Inquisitor
Inquisitor Interview Prep (“Inquisitor”) is operated by Samuel Joseph Belcastro as a sole proprietorship based in Washington State, serving customers in all 50 United States. We provide realistic interview practice and AI-generated feedback. This policy describes the information used by the application. For privacy questions or requests, contact sam@inquisitorinterviews.com.
Information we process
- Account information: your account identifier and, when provided by your sign-in provider, your name and email address. Microsoft Entra External ID handles sign-in. Authentication tokens and cookies maintain your session and authorize account access.
- Interview content: microphone audio, transcribed speech, messages, code, whiteboard drawings, text, and embedded images, along with AI responses, feedback, assessments, and practice history. Code and whiteboard content can be transmitted and saved automatically during practice.
- Usage and purchases: interview selections, session status, practice credits, and purchase-related identifiers. Checkout directs you to Stripe to provide payment information.
- Technical information: request status, timing, errors, and connectivity diagnostics used to troubleshoot the application. We aim to keep personally identifying information out of our logs.
- Communications and user feedback: information you provide when contacting us or sharing feedback about the product.
- Location and usage analytics: we may use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site usage and user demographics through aggregate reports.
How information is used
Information supports sign-in, interactive interviews, speech transcription, AI feedback, saving and retrieving interview work, practice history, credit accounting, checkout, troubleshooting, and responses to requests.
We may use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use Inquisitor and their approximate geographic distribution. When enabled, these services may process page visits, device and browser information, and approximate location to produce aggregate reports. Google Analytics may use cookies and process IP addresses to derive approximate location; Google states that it does not log or store those IP addresses. See Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation and Google’s data safeguards for provider details.
Inquisitor does not conduct human review of your interview content or use it to train AI models. Automated processing of interview content powers the interview functionality and assessments described below.
We use both human and AI review of feedback you submit about the product to improve the product experience. This product feedback is separate from your interview content and AI-generated assessments.
Information sent to OpenAI
We send the audio, code, and whiteboard content you provide during interviews to OpenAI models to deliver Inquisitor’s functionality. This includes processing speech, conducting the interview conversation, understanding your work, and generating feedback and assessments. Interview transcripts and whiteboard snapshots, including text, drawings, and embedded images, may be included in this processing.
Voice interviews require microphone permission. Audio is transmitted during the interview, and code and whiteboard content can be sent automatically as you work, not only when you request an assessment.
You can revoke microphone permission in your browser or leave the interview to stop further microphone transmission from that call. This may prevent voice features from working and does not delete information already transmitted or saved.
Inquisitor receives the transcript generated by OpenAI and does not collect or store raw interview audio on its servers. Your browser sends audio to OpenAI for realtime voice processing. We retain the transcript according to the interview-content retention rules below.
For OpenAI’s handling of realtime voice data, refer to its Privacy Policy and API data controls documentation. OpenAI’s processing and retention are governed by the applicable service terms and account settings. Inquisitor’s deletion of a transcript does not itself delete data retained by OpenAI.
Cookies and browser storage
Authentication cookies maintain sign-in, and additional cookies authorize saving interview artifacts. Session storage supports draft recovery and checkout retries. Some practice features use local storage for saved work, bookmarks, and progress.
You can block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser. This may sign you out or remove locally saved work. It does not delete information held by Inquisitor or its providers. When Google Analytics is enabled, it may use analytics cookies as described above.
Service providers
Inquisitor is hosted on Microsoft Azure and is intended for customers in the United States only. We use Microsoft Azure for hosting and storage, Microsoft Entra External ID for authentication, OpenAI for AI interview functionality and assessments, and Stripe for checkout. These services process information needed for their respective functions.
We may also use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics (GA4) for analytics, as described above.
We do not share personal information with advertisers. Google Signals, advertising personalization, and Google Ads linking are currently disabled.
How long we retain information
- Transcripts, code, and whiteboards: we retain this interview content indefinitely until you end the interview. After you end it, we retain the content while the assessment is generated and delete it promptly after the assessment is complete. Closing the browser or leaving an interview unfinished does not, by itself, trigger this deletion.
- Assessments: we retain generated assessments until you request deletion. Deleting the underlying interview transcript, code, and whiteboard after assessment completion does not automatically delete the assessment.
- User feedback: we retain feedback you submit about the product indefinitely to improve the product experience. Product feedback is not deleted as part of an account deletion request, except where deletion of personal information is required by applicable law.
- Other records: we retain account and purchase records, other session and usage records, support communications, operational logs, and backups until you request deletion, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.
These rules describe records held by Inquisitor. We do not retain raw interview audio. OpenAI’s voice-data handling is described in the resources linked above. Other service-provider copies are subject to the applicable provider terms and settings. Copies stored in your browser are managed separately through browser settings.
Your choices and requests
You can manage microphone permissions and browser storage through your browser settings and use available downloads to retain your interview work. Avoid submitting passwords, access keys, confidential employer materials, or unnecessary personal information.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email sam@inquisitorinterviews.com. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, or objection, and to complain to a data protection authority. Identity verification may be needed to handle your request.
An account deletion request includes deletion of your assessments and other personal records held by Inquisitor. We retain submitted product feedback as described above. Where applicable law requires us to retain particular records or delete personal information within product feedback, we follow those requirements.
Age requirements
Inquisitor is intended for adults aged 18 and older. You must be at least 18 to create an account or use the service. The service is not intended for anyone under 18, including with parental or guardian permission.
If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, contact sam@inquisitorinterviews.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps to close the account and delete the information, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Security
The application uses access controls and encrypted authentication cookies. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
